This is a kit a highest quality female socket. The socket is marine grade and is weather and UV resistant. The contacts are nickel plated brass. The cap is rubber for extreme weather use. Comes with a rubber mounting washer for a better panel seal. The socket is vibration resistant, unlike less expensive versions. It requires an 1 1/8″ hole for mounting and has .250 quick spade type male connectors. It can be mounted against a panel with the retaining nut on panels up to 1-1/4″ thick. For a thicker panel use the included compression plate which keeps the socket in place from the front on a panel of any thickness. The socket is rated for 15 amp, 20 amps peak at 12 volts. Draws no power when not in use, so it can’t run down your battery.
Works with any standard cigarette lighter style plug or lockable marine plug. Check our other listing if you need a locking plug. A locking plug looks like a regular male lighter plug but when twisted in this socket can not be pulled out easily, unless twisted again. Plug shown but not included in this listing.
