This is a kit of a female locking socket. The socket is marine grade and is weather and UV resistant, with a front cap to seal off the socket opening and a rubber wire boot cover to protect the contacts. The contacts are nickel plated brass and the socket body is heavy nylon plastic. The socket is vibration resistant, unlike less expensive versions. Rubber mounting washer makes the assembly more vibration resistant and seals the panel. It requires an 1 1/8″ hole for mounting and has .250 quick male connectors. It can be mounted against a panel up to 1-1/4″ thick with the retaining nut or for a thicker panel with the compression plate. The socket is rated for 15 amps at 12 volt, Draws no power when not in use, so it can’t run down your battery.
Works with any standard cigarette lighter plug or lockable marine plug. Check our other listing if you need a locking plug or a right angle mount. A locking plug looks like a regular male lighter plug but when twisted in this socket can not be pulled out easily, unless twisted again. It is weather resistant and vibration proof.
